Chautauqua Patrons Insurance Company is a Property and Casualty Insurance Company located in Jamestown, NY. As a mutual insurance company, we are “owned” by the policyholders, who are similar to stockholders in a corporation. The company does not pay dividends directly, but rather uses the profits generated to keep rates as low as possible. Additional operating profits may be retained to finance future growth and provide a cushion against future liabilities. This is referred to as policyholder surplus.
Chautauqua Patrons has been protecting policyholders in New York State since 1877 and strives to adhere to its mission statement which is to “Provide our agents and insured's with exceptional insurance service and products while being financially responsible”. Chautauqua Patrons offers many types of property and casualty insurance products, but focuses on insurance for three major lines of business: Homes, Businesses, and Farms.
