‘Right from our very beginning, Badger Mutual Insurance Company realized that insurance is more than just a policy and that our customers are more than just numbers. Our mission was and continues to be helping people in times of need—when heart and compassion truly matter.nnOur company was founded in 1887, six years after the great Chicago Fire, to help churches protect their property. After the ravages of the fire, many insurance companies refused to insure churches with large steeples or charged the owners unbelievably high rates, as large steeples attracted lightning. This put many congregations at risk. A group of kindhearted businessmen formed a mutual aid society to protect churches and property from fire–founding our company.nnThroughout the years, we have added coverages, expanded the number of states where we conduct business, and use the latest technology to make it easier for agents and our customers to do business with us.
