Effective February 1, McKinneyOlson Insurance in Sioux Falls, South Dakota joined North Risk Partners, one of the largest independent insurance brokers and risk advisory firms in the Midwest.
McKinneyOlson Insurance has a strong history of serving clients in the Sioux Falls area with roots dating back to the 1880’s. The firm has been under current ownership since 2008 when McKinney & Allen, Inc. and The Olson Group merged. In 2019, McKinneyOlson Insurance further expanded operations with the acquisition of The Insurance Connection.
With this new partnership, 26 McKinneyOlson team members have joined North Risk Partners, adding new Sioux Falls and Brandon, SD office locations. Preceding owners, Amy Olson-Miller and Steve Tripp both joined North Risk’s equity partnership group. In addition, Olson-Miller is taking on a leadership role as North Risk’s West Region President. “We’re excited to join North Risk Partners for many reasons,” says Olson-Miller. “They are an agency with a remarkable reputation in the Midwest and I am excited for the opportunity to lead the West Region.” Steve Tripp, who will join as a V.P. of Commercial Lines Sales, adds, “joining this team will give us extensive resources and tools to serve our clients, which is always our top priority.”

North Risk Partners – McKinneyOlson Insurance clients now have access to North Risk’s wide array of capabilities and insurance companies in the areas of commercial insurance, employee benefits, and personal insurance. Additionally, clients who are employers will now have access to the firm’s value-added services in the areas of human resources, health and safety and more.

On February 2, North Risk Partners team members moved from their office in Sioux Falls to join the North Risk Partners – McKinneyOlson Insurance team members in their office at 7001 S Lyncrest Pl, Ste. 102, Sioux Falls, SD 57108. North Risk Partners – McKinneyOlson team members in the Brandon office remain in the same location at 101 S Splitrock Blvd. Brandon, SD 57005.
