Atlanta, GA — With the assistance of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Investigators in the Fraud Unit at the Department of Insurance arrested Baldwin County business owner Dean Harrison Grant, 53, of Milledgeville, Georgia on Monday. Grant is the founder and managing partner of GFG Strategic Advisors located at 136 W McIntosh Street Suite A in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Grant is accused of receiving a total of $589,384.33 from his three victims for him to secure insurance related investments, $447,589.26 of which was taken from two elderly customers. He did not obtain any insurance investments with the money he received from his customers and instead used it for personal benefit.
“If you have purchased any sort of insurance product or service with Dean Harrison Grant and find that you do not have coverage, I strongly recommend that you call the Department’s Consumer Hotline at 800‐ 656‐2298,” Insurance Commissioner Jim Beck said.
Grant faces the following charges:
· 3 Counts of Insurance Fraud
· 3 Counts of Theft by Taking
· 2 Counts of Trafficking of an Elder Person
· 1 Count of Forgery in the 1st Degree
