GREENSBORO, NC—September 13, 2023— Smart Choice® has signed a record number of independent insurance agencies in the first half of 2023 with 760 agencies partnering with the fastest growing insurance network in the nation. This number eclipses all historical first-half yearly results.
“When exploring networking partnerships, it is important to consider the number of agencies under contract because business volume often translates into an agency’s improved compensation structure with carriers,” said Ashley Wingate, Smart Choice senior VP of sales. “It is also a strong indicator of buyer preference by agencies that conduct due diligence and complete competitive contract reviews.”
A recent report from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (aka the Big “I”)
shows independent agents are continuing to grow their market share. More and more independent agencies are being established — fueled by disruptions sparked by agency acquisitions, new dynamics in the captive agency model and a desire to provide insurance consumers with greater choice.
“When we established our independent agency and were evaluating different offerings from networks, clusters and aggregators, we wanted to make sure that Smart Choice’s commission split was favorable,” said Francisco Castro, with The JCC Group. “When we learned their split only applied to business written through the program, and that we could earn 100% of all commissions once we hit expected performance targets – it was a no-brainer, and we signed with Smart Choice.”
