Cross Insurance Acquires A. E. Barnes of South Weymouth
On May 2nd, 2017, Cross Insurance acquired A. E. Barnes Insurance Agency, Inc., located in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. South Weymouth, the location of Massachusetts’ second oldest European settlement, is currently home to over 50,000 residents, less than 20 miles south of Boston.
A. E. Barnes was founded in 1915, and has since experienced sustainable growth over the past century to become one of the leading independent insurance agencies in the South Shore. A. E. Barnes aims to be the most professional, knowledgeable, and trusted independent insurance agency in southeastern Massachusetts. The agency provides products and services for its varied clientele, including both small and large commercial and personal lines clients.
Former owners Preston Hoffman and Geoffrey Hoffman will continue to manage the South Weymouth office and will continue to serve as President and Vice President, respectively. The agency’s experienced staff also will continue serving existing and new customers.
